Good Space Presents Dash for the Beads

The 6th annual DASH FOR THE BEADS, a 5K Run/Walk/Costume Contest/Family & Pet Friendly festival is destined to be “epic” in 2015. With 2,600 participants last year, the event was bigger and better than ever….thanks to all of you that ran, volunteered, and/or sponsored the event. The race route proved to be one of the most challenging 5k runs in all of Texas. The 2015 event will follow the very same certified route in North Oak Cliff. Starting and ending at Kidd Springs Park and taking our runners throughthe hills of East Kessler. Come early and meet local merchants and vendors and stay after for a Mardi Gras party not to be missed withlive music and BBQ from award winning Oak Cliff residents. The 6th annual event will be held Saturday, February 14th….yes, that’s right, Valentine’s Day! With a special theme this year the race will continue the tradition of celebrating Mardi Gras with a top notch beer garden sponsored by local breweries, and a whiskey tastings. Live musical entertainment provided by Exit 380. Dress yourself and your dog in MardiGras regalia - prizes awarded! DASH FOR THE BEADS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is giving its proceedsto local area schools to help promote healthy eating and physical activity for our grade school children. Area schoolswill be eligible to apply for $2,500.00 grants to encourage kids to stay in motion and learn about and practice behaviorthat leads to a healthy lifestyle.
