Never go there alone
Monday night: Dreary bar staff with tee shirt attire and a truck stop gas attendant attitude. Count your change on crowded nights. There is one great bartender that works on Friday. Scary hustlers work the crowd. I watched in bewildered amusement as two worked a mark. The bartender caught me watching their act and got upset with me. Too bad! I've written that place off for now. I watched that place change hands and change staff. Monday's obnoxious bartender will soon return to his burger flipping job at Mcsomething or others. "would you like cheese on that burger sir?" Yes the music is okay but karaoke night tends to bring out the worst. Oh!, there is a doughnut business next door, so the place smells like doughnuts cooking. (which may explain why the place is favored by seriously obese men). The seating material is frayed and ripped in the booths
Romantic jazz club?
Not the way the music was blasting and the straight women were screeching. Hot bartenders though...
Great Bartenders and Music
Usually they have live music, and there is a super hot bartender always there on weekends with glasses and great arms that is a super heavy pour!!! The place is a little outta date, but that is one of the things that I love about it...there are a lot of young kids that make their way in, but not a bad crowd there at all.
If you're passing through town
Then Alex's is the place. A small bar, almost like a modern day Cheers. Good people, excellent bartenders and overall just a relaxing enviroment. If you'd like to just kick back with a friend or 2, then it's the place for you.
Friendly and comfortable
When your new in town, it's always nice to go to a small bar where everyone is friendly like this one. Bartenders are very friendly. As is the case in 2009, it is mostly busy on weekends.
