Dish (Closed Permanently)

(33 Ratings)
Trendy spot to "see and be seen"
The food is great, but it's really Dish's ambiance that sets it apart from the pack. Go and you'll see what we mean--from the purple LED lights on chandeliers to warm blue back-lit walls, the atmosphere is otherworldly. Makes a great first date spot as it's tough not to look good in that lighting.

Wonderful experience

I ate at DISH on New Year's Eve. It was my first visit and I must say that I can't wait to go back. From the friendly and courteous waitstaff to the relaxed yet refined environment, it was an excellent time. Needless to say the food was delicious. It has a familiar comfort food feeling but done up in a new way. It definitely is a must-visit.

I was there on a Sunday evening. The staff was friendly. We were served promptly. The menu didn't surprise, however our portion sizes were large. Overall a very good dining experience.

Invasion of the Clone Restaurants: Dallas Arrival

Is it Elmo New York, Is it Cafeteria New York, Is it Dish New York, is it Home San Francisco, is it Barnaby's Houston, is it Dish Dallas? Honestly, it is getting to be worse than "The Eagle ". Since the restaurants are the same, I'll repeat the review: I have a paranoid feeling that all mid-level gay-area restaurant menu designers all read exactly the same magazine because they basically all serve almost identically the same food. I had dinner at earlier this week, which had meatloaf & mashed, pan-roasted chicken, hangar steak, iceberg chunk salad, and then came to , and what did they have on the menu - meatloaf & mashed, pan-roasted chicken, hangar steak, you get the picture. Utterly predictable, but well-prepared food, bistro style (better than diner, worse than restaurant), friendly attentive staff and expensive. Similar to Cafeteria, similar to similar restaurants in LA, San Francisco, and so on. Completely acceptable, but not great value.
