Normally, the service and food are impeccable; just not on 2/14/09. A nice crowd, always good to see, special jazz band playing nice music...a little loud, but considering it was Valentine's, not to bad. The Scallops Newport dish was a huge failure, both attempts. If you do not know how to clean and prepare a proper scallop, stop selling them! It tasted as if the dishwasher was cleaning them and the bus help were preparing them...in fact, they would have probably done a much better job than the chef who was in charge. I have had grits that were not as gritty as these scallops and I have not tried chewing on a rubber ball since grade school. The obtrusive bus help should probably try their hand at construction work...a much better fit. Mgr./partner Steve did not try to rectify the problems when they first arose and by the time my partner and I were at the front door ready to leave was not the time to try and correct something you were already aware of from the very beginning. What a terrible shame for what should have been an exceptional Valentine's Day experience.

This is by far the best seafood in Dallas. The lobster bisque is wonderful, the clam chowder is amazing, and even the desserts are top-notch, which doesn't happen in most seafood restaurants. Also, the service is generally superb.
So, what do you say?
