The event is free to attend and will raise awareness about LGBTQ Youth Homelessness.
Please come out to Chino Chinatown on Monday, August 28th and hear from guest speakers Mayra Fierro, Youth Activists, and Zach Bartush of Promise House. They will be speaking about LGBTQ Youth Homelessness and programming offered in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
Speakers will begin at 7:00PM. We will be collecting school supplies as donations to benefit the students of Pleasant Grove Independent School District. Please feel free to stay for dinner and continue to hang out after the program ends.
Complementary chips and salsa will be offered courtesy of Chino Chinatown and a portion of Equality Vodka sales will benefit the Dallas/Fort Worth HRC Federal Club.

About Mayra Fierro:
An all around youth worker, Mayra mentors homeless LGBTQ youth, co-facilitates an inclusive values first sexual health class for pre-teens at church, and works as coordinator for two After School Programs in one of Dallas most At- Risk neighborhoods. She is a Dallas native, who despite being homeless at 17 still went ahead to marry her high school sweetheart and now lives to serve her community by empowering youth.
About Zach Bartush:
Zach Bartush is the Charitable Partnership Manager at Promise House, an organization that moves homeless youth in crisis towards safety and success through a combination of residential and community based programming. Zach has been at Promise House for the last five years working with the community to support these youth by coordinating volunteers, events and fundraising at Promise House along with the rest of his department. He loves sharing Promise House’s mission and engaging individuals and groups in supporting the youth served by Promise House and helping them maximize their impact. Prior to Promise House, Zach spent time as an Americorps VISTA(Volunteer in Service to America) in Ohio engaging college students in the community and is a graduate from Austin College in Sherman, Texas (go Roos!).
