On Sunday, November 13 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, at the W Hotel, Folksie proprietor and designer Julie McCullough, in partnership with Indiaspopup.com, presents a pop-up shop and fashion experience unlike any other. Inspired by the antediluvian nickelodeons – historically, jukeboxes and movie theaters with admission fee of a single nickel coin – McCullough will showcase a new line of upscale evening wear by way of three 15-minute silent-film-style vignettes. Each live performance will thematically chronicle the physical and psychological ordeal of a woman’s transformation as she prepares for a night out. The beauty standards she feels compelled to meet, even exceed, and the reality that underneath it all, stripped of all the excess, is where her beauty truly resides.
Admission is free with an option to pay $20 for unlimited access to the W’s BUBBLES Bar featuring its famous Bellini. Showtimes are 1:30 / 2:30 / 3:30 with shopping opportunities available between performances.
