Friday Sept. 30th the Prairie View A&M University Alumni – Dallas Chapter. The celebration continues at the Annual ATHLETICS SCHOLARSHIP & STADIUM GALA at the Marriott City Center Hotel at 6:30 p.m.
Then Saturday Oct. 1st is the big day! Grambling State University Alumni – Dallas Chapter HIGH SCHOOL BATTLE OF THE BANDS at Lancaster High School starts things off early at 8 a.m. Then the PRE GAME CONCERT – State Fair of Texas at the Chevy Main Stage at Fair Park at 2 p.m.
Finally it is game time at the STATE FAIR CLASSIC Football Game at the Dallas Cotton Bowl. The game everyone is looking forward to: Prairie View A&M vs Grambling State University at 4 p.m.

The Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic is always a vibrant, dramatic contest – between the football teams and the marching bands of Grambling State University of Louisiana and Prairie View A&M University of Texas. The State Fair Classic is particularly known for its energetic battle of the bands at halftime.
The classic showdown began in the 1940s and has been at Fair Park annually since the 1980s. It is considered the largest social event of the year for both schools, attracting over 65,000 fans to Dallas.
