Saving Our Sons -Dallas

The original date of this event was Tuesday, July 12th at 7pm. I have good news and I have bad news..... The bad news is, at the request of those connected to city officials and those connected to the DPD, I decided to POSTPONE, not cancel our march. WE WILL STILL HAVE IT!!! I have spoken with several people over the past few days and they have been in contact with both Chief Brown and the office of John Wiley Price, on my behalf. Both of these gentlman are aware of our movement and they SUPPORT US! Chief Brown supports us so much that he initally GRANTED my permit on Thursday, I just had to send in my route, which I did. Unfortunately, the shooting incident occured and the urgency and excitement took a back seat (understanbly so, officers lives were lost) to the tragic events that transpired. This Tuesday would not be safe for us. The police are mourning, as is the general population. Remember these officers have families that are grieving as well. We would have had to go at this route without police guiding us and there are many that wish to avenge the murders of the officers. We can't be the target. The GOOD NEWS is: We have the support of each other and I have a meeting set up for NEXT Saturday, the 16th with a committee composed of some of you ladies that requested to help me out. I wish I could have chosen more of you, but unfortunately, I couldn't. Also present, will be a representative from John Wiley Price's office, someone representing DPD and a retired DPD officer. This is all becase people saw the interest you ladies expressed and told somebody, who told somebody who eventually found me and wanted to speak with me and help me do this the right way. The safest way for us all. I wan't our young boys to be with us as we march and our men to stand along the route supporting us. Doing this on Tuesday, with tensions high, with those that oppose the #blacklivesmatter movement, marching is not advised. Trust me, I wanted to continue, but clearly they know something I don't, so I'm trusting the advice I was given. After we meet I will report back as much as possible. Please know this march was NEVER the ONLY thing I had planned. I have town hall meetings planned and much more. I hope to have dates available after our initial meeting. I have been working hard behind the scenes, but clearly I can't do this alone. Hopefully this date change will allow more of you to participate and we can plan ahead. This is BIG! It's big because of all of YOU! Lets keep the momentum going and keep posting in the event and motivating one another. CHANGE WILL COME! **************************************************************** We will march from the AAC to the police station on Lamar. No men will actively march with us. Just Mother's and their sons from ages infant to 17 and pregnant Mother's. I would like the men to stand along the route and support us, as we support them and walk for them. Lets show America we love our men and want them to be here to love us back. This will be a PEACEFUL march. We will march in SILENCE. Hand in hand, with our young men by our side. Please bring your strollers for the babies. If you are not a mother, or do not have a son, COME ANY WAY. If you support the movement, you are welcome to join us.
