This event will start at 10:00 a.m. sharp at Expo Bar in Dallas/Fort Worth. The first segment of the course will last until noon, at which point we will break for lunch. Lunch is "on you", but can be purchased at Expo Bar. Class will resume at 1:00 and will last until about 3:00. After testing, students will have to drive to ProActive Defense in Argyle, Texas for the shooting qualification portion of the class. It will take approximately 50 minutes to get to the range and shooting will commence at 4:00 p.m. in heats of 15 - 20 students. We expect all shooting to cease by 6:00 p.m. Students who shoot earlier in the day will be dismissed at the conclusion of the shooting qualification.
You must be 21 years of age or older to sign up for this class. Students must also bring valid government-issued identification, eye protection (prescription glasses are fine), ear protection, and something to write with. Student-owned firearms must be in a bag or holster when on the range. Firearms must be 32 caliber or larger and may not utilize any electronic sights. Revolvers or semi-automatic handguns are permitted. STEEL CASE AMMUNITION IS NOT PERMITTED ON THE RANGE. Students who wish to rent a handgun from the Texas Marksmen can do so for $10.00. These students will be expected to bring 50 rounds of factory brass cased 9mm Luger ammunition with them to class or purchase ammunition from us at the event for $18.00. Quantities of ammunition at the event will be limited.
Please note: This class has been set up for the GLBT+ community that wishes to protect itself following the terrorist attack in Orlando, FL. However, all who wish to train will be welcomed. Given the limits on space, we would ask that those who are not members of this community (or close friends/family) to please wait until 7/25/2016 to sign up. We anticipate having another class for the community at large in early October.
UPDATE: Individuals affiliated with anti-police organizations, including "Black Lives Matter", are not permitted ito attend this event. Persons wearing anti-police, "black lives matter", or racist attire will not be admitted to class or allowed on the range,
