Since September, the Oak Lawn neighborhood of Dallas has been rocked by a wave of brutal attacks on LGBT individuals.
From what began as a reign of terror, our community has rallied to "Take Back Oak Lawn" and created a force of loving people committed to eliminating hate, violence and intolerance from our midst!
On June 25th, in recognition of Pride Saturday and the work we have done over the past several months to make Dallas a safe place for LGBTQIA people, join our contingent in the QueerBomb Pride March in Deep Ellum!
**We ask that folks who wish to march with us, please wear a "Take Back Oak Lawn" T Shirt (Available @ Alexandre's on Cedar Springs) though this is not a requirement to participate. Help us spread the word that anti-LGBT violence has no place in Big D!
We will meet at 7pm at Lot C (giant city owned parking lot at Commerce St. and Good Latimer- Look for the fabulous people in the TBO shirts)
The QueerBomb Rally starts at 7:30pm @ RBC on Commerce Street- Michael Dominguez, local hate crime survivor and co-founder of "SOS. Survivors Offering Support" will be a featured speaker!
The march steps off at 8:30pm and winds it's way through Deep Ellum. We will be carrying signs of survivor empowerment, promoting a "fight back" message based in unity and love of our community! Per the organizers, participants are also invited to chant, sing, throw glitter, perform and dance during the march.
