For the first time ever, Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet presents a full length ballet adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s haunting tale, Masque of the Red Death.
Furthering their mission to collaborate with Dallas/Fort Worth-based dancers, artists, and musicians, composer Jordan Kuspa offers an original and invigorating score for DNCB’s groundbreaking premiere, to be performed by SMU’s new music ensemble, SYZYGY, led by Matt Albert.
Artists Jeff Gibbons and Gregory Ruppe harness psychological aspects of Poe’s classic tale in stunning visuals that collapse the theatre’s architectural body, performer and audience, and subconscious space onto the stage.
Masque of the Red Death will be the fifth major production by DNCB, and the first to feature both an original score and live musicians. A reception will follow the performance at 8:30 pm.
