Discerning audiences won’t want to miss this year’s Jewish Community Center of Dallas’ (The J’s) spring production of Guys and Dolls, Jr. Two casts and two directors equal two versions of this Tony-award winning musical comedy. Senior cast director Linda Leonard and junior cast director Joe Trifiletti, along with musical director Cherish Robinson, guide the performances of 58 youth cast members ranging in age from seven to 15. Performances run March 19, 22, 26 and 29 in the Zale Auditorium at The J, 7900 Northaven Rd. in Dallas. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for children/seniors and can be purchased online or by calling (214) 739-2737.
“The J’s Performing Arts Space is committed to providing quality family-friendly theater performances for the community,” said Alise Robinson, manager of The J Performing Arts Program. “We also offer youth actors the opportunity to create lifelong skills such as public speaking, leadership, confidence, teamwork and a love of theater. It doesn't get more rewarding than that.”
Originally written by Frank Loessar, The J’s performance of Guys and Dolls, Jr. features the recognizable Broadway hits “Luck Be a Lady,” “A Bushel and a Peck” and “I’ve Never Been in Love Before.”
