If you don't know Hairspray then here's a quick intro : A 'pleasantly plump' teenager (RICKI LAKE!) teaches 1962 Baltimore a thing or two about integration after landing a spot on a local TV dance show.
Our pre-show discussion will explore race relations in the 1960's & 1970's and the evolution of women's hair during these decades. Brad Bykkonen from The Beauty Box Salon (www.thebeautyboxsalon.com) has graciously agreed to be on hand to tackle the hair from "Hairspray"!
In true CinéWilde fashion there will be a dance competition feat. DJ Wild in Wild InThe Streets (stay tuned for YouTube instructional videos on dances like The Twist, The Slow Drag, The Mashed Potatoe, etc). We'll also be hosting a "divine" costume contest with expert judges Buck Wylde, Farah White, and Rodd Gray!!!
Awards to following BEST Costumers:
- Best drag queen and drag king
- Best dressed (male or female or genderfuck)
