RAZZLE DAZZLE DALLAS –THE DALLAS MAIN EVENT–
SET FOR SATURDAY, JUNE 8
AT MAIN STREET GARDEN IN DOWNTOWN DALLAS
MANY RAZZLE DAZZLE FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES TO CELEBRATE
NATIONAL GAY PRIDE MONTH AND ANTICIPATED SUPREME COURT RULINGS
Razzle Dazzle Dallas is planning a big city-wide party in downtown Dallas on Saturday, June 8 to celebrate national Gay Pride Month and the anticipated Supreme Court ruling in two major cases addressing gay rights. The Main Event party will be held in the Main Street Garden, located at 1902 Main Street @ Harwood in Dallas, on June 8, from 7pm to 12 am.
The evening will feature live music by The Bright band, a burlesque show, aerialists, circus acts, DJs, roving entertainers, adult beverages, gourmet food vendors and a wide variety of retail and artist vendors, sports leagues, faith and community organizations, as well as HIV/AIDS education and advocacy booths. A $5.00 admission will be charged at the gate or can be purchased online at www.RazzleDazzleDallas.org. A limited number of $100 VIP passes will be sold to include complimentary access to MetroBall on June 7, VIP access on June 8, beverages, parking and swag.
“This is a big year for RDD with a new location and renewed energy to give back to the community. Our new downtown Dallas location gives us the ability to make more money for our beneficiaries and to grow the attendance with people from the north, south, east and west sectors of the city,” said John Cooper-Lara, chair of Razzle Dazzle Dallas. Main Street Garden has a footprint as large as the Cedar Springs corridor, plenty of parking and is home for many North Texas activities including a citywide World AIDS Day event for the past two years.
Major corporate partners that are underwriting the costs for June 8 – The Main Event – include Red Bull, Bud Light, Jägermeister, The UPS Store on Cedar Springs and the Cedar Springs Merchant Association. The 2013 Razzle Dazzle Dallas beneficiaries will be named in the near future.
The MetroBall on Friday, June 7, benefiting the Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund, is a signature event of the Razzle Dazzle festival. The evening at Station 4 will feature a performance by the legendary Motown singer, “Don’t Leave Me This Way,” Thelma Houston and a silent auction. Tickets are available online at www.GDMAF.org.
Details on other RDD festival events are forthcoming: Winstar Casino Trip – Saturday, May 4 and Cedar Springs Pub Crawl – Thursday, June 6.
