If you'd just like to meet up with friends for Happy Hour, this is the place. Good drinks, good bartenders, and relaxed environment. Usually a decent crowd after 5pm and the drink prices are resonable.

Great place and in the heart of it all. The typical video bar with the place to be seen...

We have been going to J.R.'s for years. Always a huge crowd on weekends. Just regular guys having a great time.

Good central meeting place when you come to Dallas.

Very rude people bump into you and don;t say excuse me, step on feet don;t say excuse me! Oaklawn has gotten horrible with all the nasty attitude, so many are not Homegrown Texans such as myself but transplants and they bring there snotty A** attitudes with them! Will never go again!

Cool place with a small back room lounge and available balcony to view the busy streets. Not much 'fun' here though decent music usually packed also. I'd say a good spot for the grown folks to hangout at. It has a nice setting to it but just kinda boring.

Nice bar, good layout and they do try their best to provide varying styles of entertainment. Unfortunately it mainly attracts a crowd which is young, immature twinks with big attitude and way too much mascara and lip gloss. Yuk !

fun place to go, but not an all night hang out place, at least for me; like to go have a few drinks then go to the dance clubs like tmc or S4.

Just another watering hole with the usual boring drag shows for entertainment. The bar has lots of potential but doesn't have that oomp. Need to attract men and ya can't do that with the abovementioned. I realize that it is owned by a corporation but didn't expect it to be run as such. B-O-R-I-N-G

Not only is this a great place to meet people, its also a 2-story video bar & there's a lounge area to sit and relax, what I love most about this bar is that its big & we know size does matter! ;)

WE WENT OUT FOR NEW YEARS EVE AND J.R.'S WAS THE FIRST PLACE WE STOPPED AT AND IT WAS FULL...SAW SOME OLD FRIENDS AND MEET SOME NEW ONES.WE TOASTED IN THE NEW YEAR AND OFF TO SUE'S WE WENT.THIS IS A REALLY NICE CLUB FOR THE GROWN FOLKS.

Really had a GREAT time there.Friendly bar staff and people.im from OKC so was a refreshing place .

This is a young hip place to go and just hang out on the upstairs balconey and watch people below. A bit pricey but has a great atmosphere. Nice bar tenders and good looking people.

This is one of my favorite bars in Dallas. But like someone else said, it's missing something. It has a great patio upstairs and the barstaff is usually pretty friendly. But s4 is better for dancing and partying for sure, and round up has a better homey atmosphere.......... The pretty boys in dallas have seemed to disappear.....not sure where they went.........but it's not necessarily a bad thing

I liked Dallas's incarnation of JR's, it has a nice feel and is spread out, the crowd on a Sat. when I was there was thick, but not particularly pretty, I was surprised because Dallas has lots of hot guys, maybe we where early, maybe it was a bad night, I don't know, we left around 9:30 and went to SR4, which was hella fun, now that place is a blast, the crowd was large, but again not as pretty I had expected, I came with a hot guy and I was happy to leave with the hot guy I came with and we did not add a third, I really had expected a better crowd, but the club itself is just amazing, perfect layout and great dance floor and the music was blasting, uh back to JR's sorry I digressed, let's just say it's an o.k. pre party to the great SR4.
